The Strangest Room Service of My Life
This is good. A simple tip to stop losing customers because they don't trust you, doubt you, or are simply afraid to make a decision. Look.

This is good.
A simple tip to stop losing customers because they don't trust you, doubt you, or are simply afraid to make a decision.
Look.
Last year, my family and I stayed at a Hard Rock Hotel.
One of those with Elvis Presley's suit and Shakira's skirt in the lobby. And music videos in every corner.
One morning, as we were in the room getting ready to go out, there was a knock at the door.
I opened it.
And in front of me was a lady who came to bring me something unexpected: an electric guitar (with its amplifier and everything).
Like a little kid at Christmas, I grabbed it and ran to open it sitting on the floor.
I took it to a wall in the room that had a photo taken from a stage, facing thousands of people.
My kids looked at me, surprised.
I started to play.
Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit.
I went back to high school. To when I dreamed of playing in a band.
I looked at my kids.
All three with their mouths open. Their faces said: "Dad actually IS cool."
They asked me questions, requested songs, hung the guitar on themselves, and felt like the most famous rockers in the world.
Anyway, it was a moment to remember.
One of those you tell your school friends about.
Something became very clear to me.
The folks at Hard Rock aren't successful by chance.
While other hotels only leave you cheap shampoo bottles and Kleenex, they buy guitars and bring them to your room.
Not to say they're rock and roll. To prove it.
Now, put yourself in your customer's shoes.
At that moment when they're deciding whether to buy from you or not:
- Can I trust this company?
- Is it really worth paying them the money I worked so hard for?
They doubt. They're afraid of being tricked like before. They're on the defensive.
And that's why they don't buy from you.
There's something that kills all those doubts:
Consistency.
- That the nice phrases marketing printed on the walls are proven with actions. Like at the Hard Rock Hotel.
- That it's clear you're obsessed with what you promote (and not just the zeros in your bank account).
Think about your company: What does it resemble more?
A regular hotel with mint chocolates on the pillow that you forget about the next day?
or
The Hard Rock with electric guitars in the room that you brag about to your classmates?
To know where you stand today and what you can do to transform, I have a test that can help you.
Reply "test" and I'll send it to you.
Sincerely,
Carlos
P.S. Remember, serving is the way.
P.P.S. If you want help becoming more like Hard Rock than the nameless hotel you'll never return to, let's talk.
